About the Event
Discover the unique culture of France’s musical theatre! Join us for a movie night viewing of Notre-Dame de Paris to improve your listening comprehension skills with songs that have topped the French pop charts. Strengthen conversation skills with post-movie trivia and peer discussion. Refreshments will be provided.
This event is led by LFBK teacher Micaela and open to students from Beginner-ish Level 2 and up.
About the musical:
Notre-Dame de Paris is a French sung-through musical that premiered in Paris on September 16, 1998. Based on Victor Hugo’s novel The Hunchback of Notre-Dame, it features music by Riccardo Cocciante and lyrics by Luc Plamondon. The show has been performed globally in numerous countries and translated into eight languages. Notable songs like “Belle” and “Le temps des cathédrales” became hits in French-speaking regions. According to the Guinness Book of Records, it had the most successful first year of any musical.
